Fall Merit Badge Midway

Bill Hart District is hosting its Fall Merit Badge Midway on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019 at the LDS church at 24443 McBean Pkwy, Santa Clarita, CA 91350. Attendees MUST have the appropriate blue cards and pre-register by contacting the individual merit badge counselors listed for the merit badges they wish to work on. Class times vary. Summer Camp 2019 – July Update

Troop 58 will be attending summer camp at Hubert Eaton Scout Reservation from July 21 – July 27.

If you have registered, please make sure that we have your scout’s medical forms A, B & C on file.

Outstanding medical forms and money can be turned in at our pre-summer-camp meeting on Monday, July 15th (in classroom 1).

Our next regular troop meeting will be on Monday, August 12th.

The Scout Basic Essentials (10 Essentials)

There are ten essential items that a scout should have while hiking or camping outdoors.  They are:

  1. Pocketknife
  2. First-aid kit
  3. Extra clothing
  4. Rain gear
  5. Water bottle
  6. Flashlight
  7. Trail food
  8. Matches and fire starters
  9. Sun protection
  10. Map and compass

All of these items should fit into a large Ziploc bag and should be carried by the scout whenever they go hiking or on a campout.
